Star Track continually fields one of the largest, most competitive teams in the country at USA Cycling Jr Track National Championships. This July, the competition returns to Jerry Baker Velodrome in Washington State. If last year is any indication, the 2025 event will be one of the most exciting, best-run junior championships in recent memory.

West Coast championships make competing significantly more expensive for the team, and prohibitively so for many of our racers’ families. Star Track needs your help to give young New York City riders another opportunity to match their skills against the best junior racers in the U.S.

Star Track receives no city or state funding for its zero barriers, free cycling programs. There is no other racing program quite like ours in the country — we ride entirely because of you!

We will never leave a single rider behind — if our racer has put in the work, we promise to get them to the championships! But we need you to make this promise possible.

Your donation to the Get-to-Nationals Fund will provide families assistance with race fees and travel grants, equip riders with bicycles, rent track time to get our kids ready to ride their best, and defray team coaching, lodging and transportation expenses.

With your help, we can eliminate the barriers that keep kids from competing and allow more NYC kids to pursue competitive excellence at the highest level of junior racing. Every donation, small or large, makes a big difference to our racers.

About the Program:

Star Track is a free, urban youth outreach program created to teach New York City area kids the fundamentals of track cycling at Kissena Velodrome in Queens. Founded in 2004, Star Track has helped thousands of children — many from under-resourced areas of the city — discover the joys and benefits of bicycle racing. Our goal is to empower and engage children, enhance their physical and social development and give them a sense of pride and accomplishment through regular athletic activity. Star Track provides the opportunity to join a competitive cycling team with elite riders from across the country, and Star Track racers have earned more than 50 National Championship jerseys while setting several national records. Star Track has been honored as a USA Cycling Jr. Club of the Year and has been repeatedly designated a USA Cycling Center of Excellence. Our program is funded entirely by sponsors and private contributions, and thanks to this generous support, Star Track is fee-free for New York City children aged 8-16.
