In 2004, Deirdre and Del founded Star Track with a handful of bikes and some really big dreams.

As we enter our third decade at Kissena Velodrome, their biggest dreams are coming true. Because of you. And so much more lies ahead...

Today, almost 200 kids participate in our afterschool programs, six sessions a week, each and every semester. Star Track race teams compete in both road and track. On our new pro team, racers pursue their dreams at the sport's very highest level.

Star Track kids have won national championships, earned college scholarships through cycling, raced around the country and even around the world. Thousands of New York City children have discovered the joys of riding fast and the value of getting fit and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Through nearly two decades, we've made many changes and worked relentlessly to improve, but our mission is unchanged — empower and engage kids, sweep away the barriers that keep them from discovering and excelling at bike racing, support them every step of the way.

Our program is unique in an often expensive sport. Though we receive no city or state funding, we remain fee-free for every child rider, a commitment only made possible through your generous support.

As the program has grown, our dreams have grown too. We want to do even more, and even better for the New York children who we serve. That’s what our Twentieth Anniversary fund is for. As in 2004, we’re seeing where you can take us. We ride because of you.
